History of Grama Panchayat

The history of Palakuzha Panchayat is closely associated with education, social renaissance, and agricultural development. Education in the region began in the traditional village learning centers known as “Kalari” conducted by local teachers (Nattashans). Later, it developed through schools established under the leadership of St. John’s Church and eventually progressed to the present Government Model High School. The Gandhian movements and the activities of social reformers played an important role in eliminating caste discrimination and promoting social progress.
